I've become more than a designer. I'm a problem solver—a creative solutionist. Where do I go from here?
"Design is not an object, idea or a tactic, but rather a recognition of the quality and purpose of our daily interactions with the world." - Me
Since I began my design career as a designer in a Higher Education creative marketing agency, I’ve had the privilege of designing high profile identities in higher education, including two college seals, their corresponding identity marks, and developing brand messaging platforms for constituents to follow. In addition, I’ve held an instrumental role in the redesign of college websites, digital ad campaigns, all manner of print and self-mailer materials for all cycles of the higher education process, and environmental design of admissions oces and surrounding areas.
More recently, my Creative Manager role at BCC Software has given me the opportunity to experience the B2B market. This experience has re-shaped my marketing experience to include promotional and product campaigns, product branding, keyword retargeting campaigns, search engine optimization, and lead generation efforts. Internally, I have been responsible for a robust re-branding effort and design and development of the company’s new website and maintenance. This leadership position has allowed me to experience new creative challenges.
Be it brand language and messaging, identity, web, print, publication, or campaign design, my experience in design for marketing in both an agency environment and internally within a company has given me a wealth of skills and knowledge that have shaped the young communications designer I am today.
I am now at a point in my career where I have become so much more than a designer, and am ready and eager to evolve. I’ve become a problem solver—a creative solutionist. Where do I go from here?
